Pre-polls violence: Jessore BNP leader's house vandalised
Jessore: Miscreants vandalised the house of Jessore BNP general secretary and aspiring UC chairman candidate SM Moshiur Rahman at Monirampur upazila on Monday, reports UNB.
Police and locals said a group of 25-30 people, allegedly led by his rival candidate's younger brother, attacked the house of Moshiur, the current chairman of Shyamkur upazila, as he along with his followers were busy filing up nomination paper for the upcoming Union Council polls.
Panicked, Moshiur informed the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and the Monirampur police station officer-in-charge seeking protection.
He, however, filed his nomination paper through his wife and with the help of the local administration, said Monirampur police station OC Taherul Islam.
