Pabna: Some unidentified miscreants stabbed BNP candidate for Pabna-4 constituency Habibur Rahman during electioneering at Alhaj High School ground in Ishwardi upazila on Wednesday noon.

The victim’s nephew Sumon Mondol alleged that a group of Awami League leaders and activists swooped on them with locally made sharp weapons around 12 pm, reports the UNB.

During the attack, Habibur Rahman sustained critical injuries, he said adding that the BNP leader was taken to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex.

Meanwhile, Ishwardi Police Station Officer-in-charge Bahauddin Faruki said they have heard about the incident.
