US Embassy’s Facebook chat on Community Policing Thursday

Dhaka: The U.S. Embassy in Dhaka is going to host a Facebook chat on Community Policing on Thursday.

The chat will start at 3:00pm, which will be continued until 4:00pm.

 The chat will feature Officer Bret Barnum from Portland, Oregon, who is in Bangladesh as part of a joint U.S.-Bangladesh community policing program, said a press release.

Serving the people of Oregon since 1993, Officer Barnum has worked as a motorcycle patrolman, a supervising Sergeant, and a counter-assault specialist for the Police Bureau’s Special Emergency Reaction Team. 

Officer Barnum has visited Bangladesh four times to assist with the U.S.-Bangladesh community policing partnership.  He has instructed hundreds of Constables, Sub-Inspectors, and others from the Bangladesh police force as well as government foresters from the Sundarbans.

The US Embassy has invited its Facebook fans to ask their questions for Officer Barnum in the comments section of the of the “Community Policing” post that will be added to the Embassy’s Facebook page on Thursday.
