‘Electronic Propaganda’ held at Goethe-Institut
An electronic music concert titled ‘Electronic Propaganda’, featuring a curated selection of the finest local electronic scene talents was held at the auditorium of Goethe-Institut Bangladesh on 11 February 2016 evening.
The event started at 6:00pm and continued till 9:30pm. Around 140 mostly young local as well as a good number of foreign nationals were among the lively audience there to enjoy the concert.
Riot Electronic Arts and Music organised this electronic music concert, in cooperation with Goethe-Institut Bangladesh.
‘Electronic Propaganda’ is a chance to intimately experience the sounds, visions and quintessential eclectic style driving the local electronic scene.
Within the past few years, electronic music artists from Dhaka and Chittagong have evolved from a handful of outliers sporadically sharing sonic experiments from their bedroom or garage into figures who are now consistently creating new material and garnering followers, both underground and mainstream.
Riot features a team of experienced artists and enthusiasts with roots in Dhaka and Chittagong, who contribute to their respective music scenes locally and across the world. They work with local talent by discovering new faces and providing them with free resources, technical guidance and promotion; leading to growth, collaboration and a voice for emerging artists.
There is a great amount of creative output made possible by the explosion of readily available creative and social media technology, and the Riot can only expect that to grow. Although there are many existing labels, artists and organisations in the electronic music arena, the attention and following of listeners is still remarkably untapped. Riot stands to establish a benchmark of quality that can engage an active audience and create opportunities locally and abroad.
