Screenwriter Faruk goes missing

Dhaka: Screenwriter Faruk Hossain has reportedly gone missing after he was stuck in quicksand on Cox’s Bazar sea beach on Sunday afternoon.
Faruk Hossain’s co-worker Arshad Adnan, also the owner of Versatile Media, in Dhaka said Coast Guards tried to stop Faruk Hossain and his friends as they wanted to get down on sea water.
Faruk, however, assured the guards that they would not get down on water, but just had a walk on the shore.
Minutes later, Faruk and one of his friends got stuck into the quicksand. The friend was pulled out of the quicksand, but Faruk went missing.
Local people had been trying to rescue the young screenwriter until filing of this report, confirmed Arshad Adnan.
Faruk checked in Meridian Hotel in Cox’s Bazar. He wrote scripts for several films, including Sultana Bibiana and Pashan. He also wrote the script of NTV drama Ekdin Chhuti Hobe.
