Shusmita’s tribute to Feroza Begum

Dhaka: Shusmita Anis has launched her new music album of Nazrul songs Shishirer Sporshe Gatha or Sound of Seasons. The album was released on the 13 August, 2015 by New Music Paradigm Company.
With the release of the album, Shusmita Anis starts her musical journey in promoting and popularizing Nazrul Sangeet, while following the legacy of the legendary Nazrul artist Feroza Begum. The niece of the Nazrul legend, Shusmita dedicates the album to her loving memory. She presents an array of ten Nazrul songs in this album.
Present at the launching ceremony for the album were Minister for Cultural Affairs Asaduzzaman Noor as the chief guest, and M Asafuddowlah, a former secretary of Bangladesh government as the special guest. Music director Ibrar Tipu did the music composition for the album. Overall supervision of the making of the album was done by renowned tabla player Syed Meher Hossain. The album has been officially released on August 13 in a grand launch at the local hotel.
Shusmita Anis, the niece and devoted disciple of the legendary Nazrul Sangeet singer Feroza Begum, was trained by her aunt from the age of five. She has specialised in Nazrul Sangeet and modern Bengali songs, especially those tuned by her uncle, the legendary composer Kamal Das Gupta.
Shusmita Anis has performed regularly in Bangladesh Television from an early age.
Her first three music albums were released under the direction of Feroza Begum. Her first solo album was of contemporary Bengali songs.
Over the years, Shusmita Anis has performed in musical programs on different TV channels that include Tara Music, ETV, NTV, Channel i, etc.
Shusmita looks forward to popularise Nazrul Sangeet amongst the masses and, particularly, amongst the youth. Her mission is to celebrate life through music for herself as well as for her listeners.
