SaMaPa: A musical evening at IGCC
Dhaka: Hindustani classical vocal music department at Indira Gandhi Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) arranged a musical evening 'SAMAPA' by Cultural Centre at Gulshan in Dhaka at 6:30 PM on 5 November.
The show was performed by students of IGCC led by Santosh Kumar Mishra, an ICCR teacher from India. Raag Bhimpalashi was rendered by Razia Munni, Raag Yaman by Anindita Roy, and Raag Tilak Kamod by Shyamoli Das. The programme ended with Ghazals by Mishra.
Born in a traditional music-oriented family, Santosh Kumar Mishra is an expert in Indian classical music. He learnt music in his childhood from his father Mithilesh Mishra. Later he was trained under Ustad Gulam Mohammad Khan of kirana gharana.
Accompanists at the show were Abhijit Roy on table, TK Tareq on guitar, and Pradip Kumar Roy with Octopad.
