20 more BD students to get Russian scholarships
Dhaka: The Russian government will provide scholarships to 20 Bangladeshi students, including those of Dhaka University, for nuclear education every year.
Russian Ambassador in Bangladesh Alexander I Ignatov disclosed it when he called on DU Vice-Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique at the latter’s office on Sunday.
Alexey D Ponomarenko, Head of Project Office of Rosatom Academy, Russia and Alexander P Demin, director of Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Dhaka were also present, said a press release.
During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of introducing joint Masters Degree program among the University of Dhaka and higher educational institutions in Russia.
Introduction of a short term training program on nuclear engineering for DU young faculties and students in Russia were also discussed in the meeting.
Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Technology of DU Professor Rafiqul Islam, Professor of the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Technology Khorshed Ahmed Kabir, and Associate Professor Shafiqul Islam were present on the occasion.
