US lauds BD’s progress in education sector
Dhaka: The United States has highly appreciated Bangladesh’s progress in the education sector and assured of its all-out cooperation in maintaining the achievement in the days to come.
Both the countries also agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in the education sector.
The issues came up for discussion when US Ambassador in Dhaka Marcia Bernicat met Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid at the latter’s Secretariat office on Tuesday.
They discussed ways to increase cooperation in various areas between the two countries, including the education sector, said a PID handout.
The Education Minister described the steps taken by the government for the education sector’s development through providing quality education.
He also discussed how the cooperation can be enhanced in the areas of higher education, research, training and technical education.
Additional Education Secretary Aruna Biswas and American Centre Director Ann Barrows McConnell were also present.
