Islamic University: Harunur Rashid Askari, professor of English Department, and Selim Toha, professor of Law and Muslim Jurisprudence Department of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia, has been appointed as new vice chancellor (VC) and treasurer of the university respectively.

According to a gazette notification of the Ministry of Education, President Abdul Hamid, chancellor of the university, made the appointments in exercise of the authority bestowed on him under the University Act.

Professor Haurnur Rashid Askari is the 12th VC of the university.
