IU forms foreign students' cell

Kushtia: The Islamic University (IU) authorities has formed a foreign students' cell to enrol foreign students in different academic programmes.
Sources at IU registrar office on Monday revealed that the decision was taken from a meeting of the university’s central admission committee with its Vice-chancellor M Harun-ur-Rashid Askari in the chair.
Among others, IU Pro-Vice-chancellor M Shahinoor Rahman, Treasurer M Selim Toha, were present at the meeting.
It was decided that the university authorities will admit foreign students in the 2016-17 academic sessions. A total of 50 students will get the chance to get admission at the university. The university will enrol two foreign students for each department.
IU acting Registrar SM Abdul Latif said the university authorities will admit students from Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, Srilanka, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somalia, Cambodia, and Indonesia.
Vice-chancellor M Harun-ur-Rashid Askari said the university has all kinds of facilities for the foreign students and the move to admit foreign student will play a vital role for achieving the international standard.
