Dhaka: Pro-Awami League teachers' platform known as ‘Blue Panel’ swept the Dhaka University Teachers' Association (Duta) election on Thursday. 

The Blue Panel candidates bagged all the posts of the 15-member executive committee.

Prof ASM Maksud Kamal and Prof Dr M Rahmat Ullah from the Blue Panel were elected as the president and the general secretary respectively. 

Prof Maksud bagged 890 votes while Prof Rahmat Ullah 732 votes. Prof Shibli Rubayat ul Islam was elected as the vice president while Dr M Abdus Samad as treasurer and AJM Shafiul Alam Bhuiyan as joint secretary. 

The elected members are - Dr SM Abdur Rahman, Dr Tajin Ajij Chowdhury, Farid Uddin Ahmed, Dr Biman Chandra Barua, Dr Mahbuba Nasrin, Dr M Aftab Ali Seikh, Dr M Imdadul Haque, Dr M Nijamul Haque Bhuiyan, Dr M Baytulla Kaderi and Lafifa Jamal. 

A total of 1,502 teachers out of 1,950 cast their votes from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Dhaka University Teachers' Club.
