DU increases 253 seats this year
The Dhaka University authorities have increased a total of 253 seats for session 2017-18.
DU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique disclosed the matter on Monday while inaugurating the online application process at the central admissions office on the campus at 2:00pm.
Prof Arefin Siddique said, ‘This year the seats for the different disciplines have been increased as many new departments have been introduced.’
‘A total of 7,053 seats are available this year where 1,765 for ‘Ka’(Science) unit, 2,363 for ‘Kha’(Arts) unit, 1,250 for ‘Ga’(Business) unit, 1,540 for ‘Gha’(combined) unit and 135 for Fine Arts faculty,’ he added
Last year, the number of seats was 6,800. Of the 253 new seats, 30 will be admitted into the inaugural batch of the brand new Japanese Studies course, the VC further revealed.
The students who passed HSC examination in 2017 can apply for the admission. The requirements and notices will be published on https://admission.eis.du.ac.bd very soon.
Only those who qualify to sit the exam will be obliged to pay Tk 350 taka through Sonali, Agrani, Janata or Rupali Bank.
