Gono Bishwabidyalay Student Union polls Thursday
Savar: The Gono Bishwabidyalay Student Union election will be held on Thursday.
Gono Bishwabidyalay (GB), a private university in Savar, is free from any kind of political activities but believes in democratic rights and practices of its students.
As continuity of this, this year the student union election is going to be held for the third time amid festivity.
Candidates are conducting election campaign both on the campus and social media that got much hype.
A total of 24 students, 21 males and 3 females, will vie for 6 posts.
Jewel Rana of Bangla 9th batch, Sujon Rana and Johirul Islam Sujon from Government and Politics Department will contest for the post of Vice President (VP).
However, university sources said local influential people may interfere in the polls.
When contacted, GB Registrar Md Delwar Hossain said the university authorities had taken full-fledged security measures on the campus and informed the law enforcement agencies to cooperate them.
The election will be held from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
