Noakhali: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Thursday claimed that BNP is making ‘false and baseless’ allegations sensing its imminent defeat in the forthcoming 11th parliamentary elections.

‘With the election getting closer, BNP is becoming isolated. It’s looking for excuse to quit the election race bringing false and baseless allegations,’ he said while conducting electioneering in Companiganj upazila in the afternoon, reports the UNB.

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said although BNP is not present in the field for electioneering, they are active in the diplomatic arena and media.

He said creation of job facilities for youths was given importance in the Awami League election manifesto unveiled on Tuesday. ‘One member of every family will be given job if we come to power again. We’ll work for the welfare of homeless people.’

The ruling party leader sought votes for ‘Boat’ to keep up the ongoing development trend.

District AL vice-president Sahab Uddin, AL Companiganj unit president Khijir Hayat and Companiganj upazila parishad chairman Mizanur Rahman Badal were, among others, present.
