Dhaka: The creative talent hunt competition 2015 begins across the country on March 1, aiming to pick creative students from secondary and higher secondary levels, and nurture their talents.

Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid announced this at a press briefing at his ministry on Thursday.

“The main objective of the competition is to eliminate disparities between urban and rural education, and flourish the talents of the students who are growing amid negligence,” the minister said.

The competition which was launched in 2013 is going to be held for the third time.

Students of class VI to XII from government and non-government educational institutions across the country can participate in the competition.

The contest will be held on four subjects- -- Literature, Daily Science (for class VI to VIII) and Science (for class IX to XII), Mathematics and Computer, Bangladesh Studies and Liberation War, Nahid said.

The competition will be held in several phases starting from upazila level. The upazila-level competition will be held from March 1-3.  Winners from this level will participate in the district-level competition to be held from March 7-9.

The district-level winners will qualify for divisional competition to be held from March 12-15.

The Dhaka Metropolitan-level competition will be held from March 16-19 while national-level competition on March 22, said the minister.

Nahid said a colourful rally with the participation of some 50,000 students will be brought out in the city on this occasion on March 1.  The rally will start from Curzon Hall around 10am on the day and end at Central Shaheed Minar marching different roads, he added.

The Creative Talent Search Policy was finalised to hunt for and nurture creative talents among secondary and higher secondary level students in 2012.

All information over the competition will be available at upazila education offices and on www.moedu.gov.bd <http://www.moedu.gov.bd> and www.dshe.gov.bd <http://www.dshe.gov.bd>.
