Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Saturday alleged that efforts are on to sign unequal deals to make Bangladesh a subservient country.

In a message issued on the occasion of the country’s 47th Independence Day, she said, “A deep-rooted plot is going on to turn Bangladesh into a submissive country. Identified local and international quarters are active to put our independence and sovereignty at stake.”

She urged all to remain aware of any effort to sign unequal treaties against the country’s interest.  “All must remain alert and vigilant to foil all plots, and protect independence.”

The BNP chairperson also called upon all to forge a national unity to protect the country’s interests.

Khaleda Zia greeted the country’s people on the occasion of Independence Day.
