A teenage girl has allegedly been gang-raped in Jessore as the owner of a house where she lives refused to pay extortion money.

Police held two persons in this connection after the wife of the house owner had lodged a case against eight people with Jessore’s Kotwali police on Saturday, a day after the incident.

It was claimed that the accused persons had been demanding money from the house owner who did not agree to pay. Infuriated by the refusal, they carried out the attack on their house, gang-raped the victim, and looted valuables from there, claimed the wife of house owner.

Police said the alleged attackers had stripped the house owner and his wife and took photos of them. Later two of them raped the fourteen-year-old victim who used to live there.

The attackers also threatened that they would upload the photos on the internet if the family revealed the incident.
