Mobile internet services resume
Dhaka: The 2G, 3G and 4G mobile services resumed on Sunday afternoon after a suspension of about 28 hours.
Mobile phone operators said they were directed by Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to resume the services at 6pm, two hours after voting ended in the national election, reports the UNB.
Internet services were made available in the evening, BTRC Senior Assistant Director (Media) Jakir Hossain Khan told UNB.
3G and 4G services had been unavailable from 3pm Saturday, the day before the election. 2G service was suspended later that night.
On Thursday, BTRC ordered suspension of 3G and 4G services but later withdrew the directive after about 10 hours.
